Two-storey house with beige scratch-texture Graphiato in Takoradi by FreeCoat

Graphiato gives a building texture, depth and character — and stands up to Ghana’s sun and rain better than flat paint alone.

Graphiato is a textured decorative coating applied with trowels and tools to create scratch, sand, rustic or patterned finishes. It is one of the most popular exterior finishes in Ghana for houses, boundary walls, pillars and gates, and increasingly used for interior feature walls.

FreeCoat prepares and primes the wall, applies the Graphiato base in an even, controlled texture, and finishes with colour and protective coats. The texture stays consistent across large walls — no patchy sections or visible joints where work stopped and started.

We have finished Graphiato houses in Takoradi and Sunyani, boundary walls and pillars in Techiman, and textured exteriors in Tema and Accra — combining Graphiato with smooth paint bands, stone cladding and trims for a premium look.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is Graphiato?

Graphiato is a textured decorative wall coating applied with special tools to create scratch, sand or patterned finishes. It is widely used on exteriors and boundary walls in Ghana because it is durable and attractive.

How much does Graphiato cost in Ghana?

Graphiato is priced per square metre and depends on the texture, wall condition, height and whether colour coats are included. FreeCoat measures and gives a written quote.

Is Graphiato better than ordinary paint?

For exteriors, Graphiato is thicker and more textured than paint, so it hides imperfections and generally holds up better to weather. It is finished with paint coats for colour.

Can Graphiato be used inside the house?

Yes. Interior Graphiato makes a strong feature wall in living rooms, receptions and corridors.
